Webbery Barton Barn is quite simply one of the largest and finest barn conversions in the area. Originally a double threshing barn and round house this beautiful structure has been sympathetically converted to a very high standard using quality materials and now offers the luxurious refinements of a modern home combined with many original period features
The barn is southwest facing and overlooks its own private
gardens and grounds and there are
lovely views over open countryside and to the sea in the distance.
The property enjoys the benefits of both worlds as it is in a quiet rural
hamlet yet only just two and three quarter miles from the port and market town
of Bideford which offers an extensive range of shops, restaurants and pubs.

Internally there is an immediate ‘wow factor’ when you enter the grand receiving / dining hall with its lofty vaulted ceiling overlooked by a Juliet balcony, with inglenook fireplace and woodburning stove, a wonderful room for entertaining
A particular feature throughout the ground floor is the superb oak flooring with under floor heating. At the centre of the barn is a large hallway with impressive oak staircase leading to galleried landing above. There is a 34’0 drawing room leading through to a bright garden room and these two rooms are linked externally by a cloistered sun loggia.
The
spacious kitchen / breakfast room is ideal for informal entertaining and centres
around a traditional range recessed beneath a sandstone archway. Polished
granite work surfaces
are complimented by the stylish Pewter door furniture and the folding glazed
doors provide plenty of light as well as access to the cobbled courtyard ideal
for breakfasting in the summer
Immediately in front of the barn is the Southwest Facing Open Cloistered Sun Loggia with glazed roof. Immediately adjacent to this is an Extensive Sun Terrace ideal for siting loungers or summer dining. The formal garden is arranged in front of the barn where there are sweeping lawns, one of which has a central circular bed stocked with young specimen trees and shrubs.
Upstairs
there are five light and airy bedrooms, 4 ensuite, (2 Doubles and three twins)
furnished to a luxurious standard with fresh
white Egyptian cotton bed linen and towels (Beach towels are also provided) and
a family bathroom. On the ground floor there is a further twin bedroom
Outside you will find a patio and barbecue area with tables, chairs and umbrella where you can relax and watch the sun go down.
The regional centre of Barnstaple is about 8 miles distance and houses the areas
main business,
commercial, entertainment and shopping venues.
The historic civil war town of Great Torrington is within a short drive. The Taw and Torridge estuary at Barnstaple / Bideford is popular for sailing and water sports being enhanced by the Tarka Trail which runs alongside connecting Braunton with Torrington via Barnstaple. Other attractions in the area include a choice of golf clubs including the renowned Royal North Devon Course on Northam Burrows a superb location for the country’s oldest club. A selection of well known sandy beaches which include Woolacombe, Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton the nearest of which is the blue flag beach of Westward Ho! and the national parks of both Exmoor and Dartmoor are all within an hours drive.
